Risk management · Traditional & digital assets
Blue Square brings a rules-based risk plan to traditional and digital assets, with a defined process for reducing exposure and putting capital back to work.
What you own. Why you own it.
The opportunities you want to participate in.
When to reduce exposure. When to hold cash.
How to put that capital back to work.
The Blue Square approach
A long-term belief in an investment does not make the journey smooth. Blue Square’s risk plan uses price trends and predefined rules to govern exposure across traditional and digital assets.
Maintain exposure to the investments your strategy is built around while the applicable rules support participation.
Reduce exposure when the rules identify weakness, holding the balance in cash and cash equivalents.
Increase exposure as conditions improve under the rules. The plan to return matters as much as the plan to reduce.
The objective is to reduce the impact of deep declines over a full market cycle. The process can react after prices fall or recover, miss gains, and lose money. Cash holdings can reduce returns in rising markets.
Dynamic Cash Allocation® (DCA®) is Blue Square’s rules-based process for changing exposure as price trends change. Conditions are monitored daily; changes are made when the rules call for them.
For traditional assets, Dynamic Risk Indicator® (DRI®) adds a separate response to unusually high volatility. Digital assets use a separately calibrated Dynamic Cash Allocation® (DCA®) process without that traditional-asset overlay. The philosophy is shared; the rules differ by asset class.
